Participant Terms of Service

Last Updated: March 2026

These Participant Terms apply to you if you interact with a business that uses Carima's services - for example, when you book an appointment, receive a phone call from an AI assistant, or communicate via WhatsApp or SMS with a Carima-powered business.

1. Who These Terms Apply To

These terms apply to "Participants" - individuals who interact with businesses that use Carima's platform. This includes anyone who books an appointment, receives a call, or communicates through Carima-powered channels. The business you are interacting with (the "Business Customer") has its own terms and privacy practices that also apply to your interaction.

2. Data We Collect During Your Interaction

When you interact with a Carima-powered business, the following data may be collected:

  • Your name, phone number, and email address (as provided for booking or communication)
  • Appointment details (date, time, service type)
  • Voice recordings of calls with AI assistants (with disclosure at the start of the call)
  • SMS and WhatsApp message content
  • Your approximate location (if relevant to the service)

3. Voice Recording and AI Disclosure

Carima uses AI voice assistants to handle calls on behalf of businesses. When you interact with a Carima AI assistant:

  • You will be informed at the beginning of the call that you are speaking with an AI system
  • The call may be recorded and transcribed for service delivery and quality assurance
  • You may request to speak with a human representative at any time during the call
  • Voice recordings are processed by our sub-processors (see our Privacy Policy for the full list)

4. SMS and WhatsApp Communications

You may receive SMS or WhatsApp messages related to your interaction with a Carima-powered business:

  • Appointment confirmations and reminders
  • Service-related notifications
  • Follow-up communications from the business
  • You can opt out of SMS messages by replying STOP at any time
  • Message and data rates from your carrier may apply

5. How Your Data Is Processed

Your data is processed by both the Business Customer and Carima:

  • The Business Customer is the data controller - they determine why and how your data is processed
  • Carima is the data processor - we process your data on behalf of the Business Customer to deliver our services
  • Carima stores and processes data on AWS servers in the United States
  • For details on our data practices, sub-processors, and security measures, please see our Privacy Policy

6. Your Privacy Rights

You have privacy rights regarding the data collected during your interactions. The specific rights depend on your location:

  • To exercise rights related to data held by the Business Customer, contact the business directly
  • To exercise rights related to data held by Carima, contact support@carima.ai
  • EEA/UK residents: Rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection)
  • California residents: Rights under CCPA/CPRA (know, delete, correct, opt-out)
  • Turkey residents: Rights under KVKK (access, correction, deletion, objection)
  • For full details on your region-specific rights, see our Privacy Policy

7. Limitation of Liability

Carima provides its AI-powered services on an "as is" basis. While we strive for accuracy and reliability:

  • AI-generated responses may contain errors or inaccuracies
  • Carima is not liable for decisions made by the Business Customer based on AI-generated data
  • Carima's total liability is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g., death or personal injury caused by negligence)

8. Contact
